CES Chromebook Project
The new Central Elementary School Chromebook Project will move Champion students further into a blended learning environment by eventually placing a device into the hands of every elementary child. This will increase computer access to every student with the addition of 180 Chromebook laptops this fall. Chromebooks are affordable, lightweight, fast, and simple to use. They operate on a Google Chrome Operating System (OS). This means that data is stored in the cloud. All students have their own Gmail and can share documents with each other and their teacher. Technology allows students to experience critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication with their teacher and peers both locally and globally, which is all part of a 21st Century education. Having access to move devices will also allow teachers to meet individual students’ needs on a greater scale by differentiation. Students will also use our current computer labs to work as a class led by their classroom teacher in grade K-4. We look forward to sharing the achievements of our teachers and students as we transition to a 21st Century teaching and learning environment.
