Orientation Meeting for “Marching to the Beat”

The Champion Schools Senior Citizens’ Advisory Council members are busy recruiting community members to participate in the 2nd annual “Marching to the Beat” Community Band Concert to be held Thursday, May 20 @ CHS auditorium. The community band is made up of adults performing with the CHS concert band students. All you need to participate in this event is your band instrument and the willingness to have a great time.

An orientation meeting for interested adults is Wednesday, April 14 @ 3:30 in the CHS media center. Mr. Josh Cokrlic, Director of the HS concert band, will orient the “adult performers” to the music and outline the practice schedule in preparation for the concert.

Practice days with the HS concert band students will be May 17-19 from 11:50-12:50. If you have questions or need more information, contact Carolyn Stear @ 330-847-2338.

2nd Annual “Marching to the Beat” Concert Needs Community Performers

Champion Schools Senior Citizens’ Advisory Council is seeking community members interested in performing in the 2nd Annual “Marching to the Beat”community band performance Thursday, May 20 @ 11:50 A.M. in the high school auditorium.

“Marching to the Beat” is an instrumental concert showcasing the talents of community members who will perform with C.H.S. concert band students.

If you would like to participate in this enjoyable concert, all the experience you need is to have played in your high school band. Last year 16 community members joined with the high school concert band students for this performance which is open to the community at no cost.

An orientation meeting for community members interested in performing in the concert is Wednesday, April 14 @ 3:30 P.M. in the H.S. Media Center conducted by Mr. Josh Cokrlic, Asst. Band Director for Champion Schools.

Community performers will then practice with the concert band students on Monday, May 17 through Wednesday, May 19 from 11:50 A.M. – 12:50 P.M. in the HS band room. The performance is Thursday, May 20 @ 11:50 in the high school auditorium.
