Students that have been doing 100% remote learning with the district may now make the decision to return to our hybrid in-person learning model beginning the week of January 25th. You will need to fill out the “Return to In-Person Learning” Google Form by Friday, January 15th. If you have questions prior to making your decision, please contact the school in which your child attends. You do not need to fill out the form unless you plan to switch your child from 100% remote learning to in-person hybrid learning. Please keep in mind that an increased number of students may create larger class sizes, and students may not be distanced at 6 feet apart in all classes and during lunch. Also, please consider the following changes that may be impacted at each building:
CES: 100% remote learners who choose to change to the hybrid model for the second semester will be assigned a new teacher and join with hybrid classrooms when they return. Typically, 100% remote learners are ahead in the curriculum based on class time with the teacher four times per week.
CMS: Parents need to know that this is a commitment for the remainder of the school year. If students come back from remote to hybrid there is a possibility of a change in ELA and Math teachers. Students will have the additional classes of band/choir, art, STEM and physical education/health.
CHS: Parents of online students requesting a return to in-person learning will have to make an appointment (in person or via phone/zoom) with one of our CHS school counselors to determine their eligibility to return. The second semester curriculum/pacing of in-person learning may not “match up” with their online syllabi.
Busing: Parents MUST fill out the Student Bus Form if they are no longer 100% remote learners and need bus transportation. Bus changes take 48 hours to go into effect. The form is located at: https://www.championlocal.org/docs/district/altbusing.pdf
