This is John Grabowski Superintendent of Champion Local Schools,

Today our teachers and staff have been preparing lesson activities that will allow our students to keep learning during our extended break. We met with our entire district staff to come together to decide on how we can best serve our entire community. We have asked our teachers to prepare lessons to help our students maintain their learning, not to overwhelm them. Our food service staff will be working to prepare 400 bag lunches for distribution on Monday. Our staff is also conducting a food drive to have more food on hand to help out those in need. Anyone interested in contributing to that drive may drop off food on Monday at the PK8 from 7-3. We will start distributing food from the PK8 Monday at 10am to those in need. Also, if any member of your family is ill, please stay home, call us and we will arrange delivery for you. We want everyone to remain safe. During this time teachers and staff are not going to be in the building everyday, but you can email or message  them questions and they will be able to provide support to you in that manner.

CES parents may enter the main hallway outside the office on Monday from 10 am-3pm and head directly to visit the classroom teacher or teachers.  Lesson guidance, books and chromebooks will be distributed from there.  Any student that needs a chromebook and charger to take home must sign a liability waiver with the classroom teacher.  Teachers will communicate through Bloomz and Class Dojo.  3rd and 4th graders will also complete assignments in their Google Classroom. Anyone who needs paper copies of assignments, but is unable to pick them up; please call the elementary school office at 330-847-2328.

CMS students may report to the main hallway outside the office on Monday from 10am-3pm to pick up their instruments, items from their lockers and paper versions of assignments if there is no internet access from home. Any student that needs a chromebook and charger to take home, can do so on Monday as long as an adult signs a liability waiver. If students have their chromebooks; all assignments are available on-line in teachers’ Google Classrooms. Anyone who needs paper copies of assignments, but is unable to pick them up; please call the middle school office 330-847-2340.

CHS students: all of your high school coursework is available online. If you have your chromebook and home internet access, you may stay home. If you need to pick up your chromebook or instrument, if you need to borrow a chromebook and/or charger, or if you need paper copies of your assignments, you may report to the main office from 10am to 3 pm on Monday for those items. Anyone who needs paper copies of assignments but is unable to pick them up, please call the high school main office at (330) 847-2305.

Thank you and have a great night!
